Castalloy began its operation as a modest foundry in 1974 in Baroda,
India. Soon a machine shop was added to produce fully machined components.
Late seventies and early eighties witnessed an explosive growth in
chemical and pharma industries posing challenges and opportunities to
Capital Equipment manufacturing sector in general and glass blowing sector
in particular. Castalloy accepted the challenge of developing Metal Parts
appropriate for Indian Glass blowing industries.
The efforts in collaboration with major Indians Glass blowers led to
development of flanges, fittings and many other non-glass parts for glass
assemblies. The most brilliant development was the XTRONG Flanges, which
permitted higher locking force without endangering the glass.
In its pursuit to support glass blowing industries, Castalloy developed a computer
software - GLASPRO - to design, draw, scale & cost a glass assembly.
Castalloy achieved ISO
9001 compliance in March 2004.
